File under: Seriously?

During a confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, Senator Amy Klobuchar asked Supreme Court Justice nominee Elena Kagan how she would rule in the "famous cases" of Edward v. Jacob and the Vampire v. Werewolf, characters from the Twilight book/movie series.

Obvs Sen. Klobuchar was joking, but still.

Sonia Sotomayor Latina latinacover20091110.jpgSupreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor is on the cover of the December issue of Latina (on stands November 17).

She strikes a patriotic pose with her hand over her heart. (Note her fab brick red nail polish.)

Latina is honoring Justice Sotomayor as the Woman of the Decade.

Judge Sonia Sotomayor was sworn in as an Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court Saturday.    Justice Sotomayor is the first Latina (and only the third woman, period) to sit on the high court.

Dressed in a crisp, cream skirt suit and accompanied by her mother and brother, Justice Sotomayor looked so happy, proud and eager to serve in the moments before Chief Justice John Roberts began the proceedings.  She enthusiastically hugged her mother and then her brother after the brief ceremony was completed.

Felicitaciones, Justice Sotomayor!
