Tony Snow: August 2007 Archives
White House press secretary, Tony Snow, said yesterday that he will leave the Bush administration soon because he can't afford to live on his salary. "I will not be able to make it to the end of this administration, just financially," he said. Snow earns $168,000 per year, making him the kind of poor most Americans wish they could be.
Formerly a conservative political commentator and talk-show host on Fox News Radio, Snow was appointed press secretary in April 2006. A cancer survivor, he announced the recurrence of his colon cancer in March and completed his last chemotherapy treatment yesterday, but he did not cite health as a reason for his departure. Snow is 52 and has 3 kids.
