Fabulous and fierce, Silda Wall Spitzer is back.
But don't call it a comeback, because she's not the one who did anything wrong. In the March issue of Vogue (the one with Michelle Obama on the cover), Silda breaks her silence for the first time since her husband, former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, resigned after getting caught up in a prostitution scandal. Silda talks briefly about the scandal, but on a more interesting note, chats about her new job as a fund manager and her work with Children for Children, a charity that she founded.
For more, pick up the March Vogue on news stands now.
Robert F. "Bobby" Kennedy, kid brother of President John F. Kennedy, was killed 40 years ago, while campaigning for the Democratic presidential nomination. Bobby was a crusader for racial and economic justice, and when he died, many thought the "dream" died too.
Not so, say the women he left behind. Glamour talked to Bobby's daughters and granddaughters - yep, all 14 of 'em - to get full scoop on how they keep their father and grandfather's dreams alive through continued public service.
Kristin Gore is set to co-write the screenplay for Nailed, a political satire in which the main character, Sammy Joyce, turns into a nympho after a nail is accidentally shot into her head. The Hollywood Reporter reports:
Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel are attached to star in the risque political satire "Nailed." David O. Russell is attached to direct and co-write the screenplay with Al Gore's daughter, Kristin Gore.
Biel would play Sammy Joyce, a socially awkward small-town receptionist who has a nail accidentally shot into her head by a clumsy workman, eliciting wild sexual urges.
The uninsured Joyce goes on a crusade to Washington to fight for the rights of the bizarrely injured. She meets an immoral congressman (Gyllenhaal) who takes advantage of her sex drive and capitalizes on her crusade as Joyce heads into her own career in politics.
Prior to working on Nailed, Kristin penned two novels, Sammy's Hill and Sammy's House, that also "star" Sammy Joyce, the character in the film. We've read and recommend both books. (Read Sammy's House second, because it gives away the ending to Sammy's Hill.)
On a personal fitness note, Kristin stays in shape by running. See what's on her running iTunes playlist here (you'll have to scroll down a little).

Lynne Cheney told MSNBC today that she discovered that her husband, Dick Cheney, and Barack Obama are 8th cousins.
Sunday's Washington Post profiled Hillary Clinton's mom, Dorothy Emma Howell Rodham. Hillary has said before that her mom is the inspiration behind her success: "...I owe it to my mother, who never got a chance to go to college, who had a very difficult childhood, but who gave me a belief that I could do whatever I set my mind." As for whether Hillary gets the "mom endorsement" for her presidential candidacy, Mrs. Rodham told a 2004 Oprah audience that if Hillary ran for president, "She would do great. I have to say that."

Turns out that Sen Craig's "character witnesses," his children Michael Craig and Shea Howell, have a few character issues themselves. Here's the rundown.
Sen. Craig was arrested in a public restroom for soliciting sex from a cop (he says it was a "misunderstanding"). Michael and Shea appeared on Good Morning America last week to clarify that "misunderstanding" on behalf of their father.
At the time of their appearance, there was an arrest warrant out for Shea because she failed to make a criminal court appearance. The initial charges against her were "unlawful entry" and "malicius destruction of property".
Not to be outdone, Michael has a history of battery and sexual abuse of women. In 2003, he pled guilty to a charge of battering his wife and a restraining order was placed against him. His wife sought shelter at St. Mark's Crisis Action Center in Boise, an intervention services center for families in crisis. In 1993, a Michael's girlfriend got a restraining order against him for battering her and breaking her nose. He pled guilty to the charge. In 1988, Michael was charged with the felony statutory rape of a 16 year old girl. The charges were later dropped.
With real life stories like this, who needs cable?
Way too much information.
Michelle Obama, wife of presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, revealed in a recent interview with Glamour magazine that her husband is too "snore-y and stinky" to be in her bed and that she has morning chats about mentruation with her (adorable) little daughters. She has also snitched in the past that that her husband puts his smelly socks everywhere but in the laundry hamper.
Yes, we need more information about Sen. Obama so that we can make an informed decision in the voting booth, but do we really need to know all that? Just where he stands on the issues is enough info for us, thank you.
The Boise Guardian reports that Sen. Larry Craig's "character witness," his daughter Suzanne Shae Howell who spoke out for him on Good Morning America yesterday, has an outstanding arrest warrant for missing a court appearance. According to the Boise Guardian, her original offenses were unlawful entry and malicious injury to property.
If you've been under a rock (or, um, preoccupied in a bathroom stall) for the past few days, Craig is the U.S. Senator who was arrested in a public men's room for soliciting an undercover male cop for sex. Craig has not resigned, resigned, not resigned again and then resigned again in the past 5 days because of the controversy surrounding his frisky business.

Author Kristin Gore is now a Cosmo girl. Check her out in the new Cosmopolitan Magazine (September 2007) dressed in a power suit comprised of a short, hip tweed jacket and thigh-high mini skirt paired with at least 3- inch- high Stuart Weitzman pumps. The long legs, the heels... chic yet still power lunch appropriate.
Look closely at Kristin's photo to see that she's holding a copy of her latest book,"Sammy's House," which is a definite polichick lit must-read. Kristin happens to be the daughter of former Vice President Al Gore.
