Military: September 2007 Archives

Army Chief of Staff Gen. George Casey was on Capitol Hill yesterday.  He requested a meeting with lawmakers to warn that the Army is stretched so thin by the Iraq war that it cannot effectively respond to another conflict.   "The current demand for our forces exceeds the sustainable supply," he said.  Representative John M. McHugh, a New York Republican, said Casey's blunt testimony was "just downright frightening."

Terri Gurrola and daughter.jpgTerri Gurrolo is reunited with her daughter after serving in Iraq for 7 months.  We read on another blog that Terri got to spend only 2 weeks with her daughter before she had to go back to Iraq.  Now that must have been an excruciating goodbye.
