From Oprah.com:

In June 2009, married South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford went missing. Five days later, he surfaced and confessed he traveled to Argentina for a secret rendezvous with a woman he calls his soul mate. His wife, Jenny Sanford, has filed for divorce and is now telling her story in her new book, Staying True. She tells Oprah about discovering the affair, her decision to file for divorce and how this ordeal has affected her family.  Here's the vid.

O Michelle!

Michelle Obama O Magazine.jpgIn an interview featured in O Magazine, Michelle Obama tells Oprah what she knows for sure. A sneak peek is over here, but you have to pick up the magazine (on newsstands March 17th) to get full scoop.

O Mag_december_2008.jpgOprah's column in the holiday issue of O Magazine:

The economy is in flux, and so are we. For years I've noticed that the universe speaks to us in whispers. If we ignore the whispers, we get pebbles of warning.  If we still don't pay attention, we get bricks of problems, and if we're really hardheaded, eventually the entire brick wall comes crashing down. This is a pattern I've seen repeated so often in every area of life that I know for sure when you don't pay attention to the pebbles, it's just a matter of time before the bricks show up.

Our nation's financial crisis is the brick wall that's going to force us to deal with the reality of what truly matters. And to face the spiritual crisis of figuring out who we are and who we choose to be.

Our spending and greed for material things that we think will define us have been forcibly put in check. We have a wake-up-call opportunity to get real and be real with others by finding ways to show love, give love, be love without spending a lot of money. It's a chance for us to look beneath the surface, into the culture of excessive more, more, more-ness that got us into this mess.

It will take more than a bailout to get us on the right track. We need a shift in the way we think about our lives. We may have to search deeply to recognize what matters. Sometimes when I ask people what it would take to make them happy, they don't know what to say. They forge an answer about family and friends, and yet their lives are about everything else.

Everything in life has meaning. The bigger the fall, the greater the lesson.

Oprah

Oprah pretty.jpgOMG!

We hear that Oprah Winfrey is searching for a home in Washington D.C. (Yay! We loves us some Oprah!)

Word is she's looking at buying a mansion in Georgetown for chump change. (Chump change = $50 million in Oprah's book.)

See Oprah's potential new crib below.  You can check out the inside  over here. Or if you're in DC and you really want to be nosey, we suppose you could do a driveby....

Oh don't act like all uppity, like you've never done a driveby before!  At least once (and you know it's been more than once), you and your girls have giggled on by some cute boy's house because you "just happened" to be in the neighborhood. (Note: neighborhood = anywhere within a 12 mile radius of said cute boy's home).

If you weren't one of the 70,000 people at the Oprah/Obama rallies this weekend or one of the millions of people who saw the news coverage, the Obama campaign wants to make sure that you know that Barack is  Oprah's "most favoritest" thing.  The campaign sent out an email yesterday evening asking recipients to forward a video with excerpts of  Oprah's and Obama's remarks at the rallies to all of their friends.

Interesting is that the email about Oprah's endorsement came from "Obama from America," rather than Oprah herself.  A personal email messsage from Oprah urging us gals to vote for Obama would be powerful with a capital P.  Either the Obama campaign is holding the Oprah email card for later use (most likely), or Oprah has determined that an endorsement of that kind is more than her brand can handle (less likely... O can do almost anything).

View the video that came with the Oprah email above.  Read the email in it's entirety after the jump.

Here's an AP video about Oprah's Saturday fundraiser for Barack Obama.  Stevie Wonder performed and Hollywood's biggest stars were in attendance.

Clinton and Oprah_center_20070903_306x178.jpgPresident Bill Clinton will be on Oprah today at 4 EST to share his new passion: giving.

Hillary Clinton's campaign sent out the alert below to let everyone know about Hillary's and Bill's upcoming appearances on Letterman, Oprah and Larry King.  Make sure you watch!

Mark your calendars and set your Tivos and VCRs -- you don't want to miss Hillary's two upcoming TV appearances! Tonight she'll be making her seventh appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman -- her first as a candidate for president. And this coming Tuesday, September 4, she'll be Ellen's guest on the season premiere of the Ellen DeGeneres show.

Ellen is soliciting questions from her viewers to ask of Hillary, and we want to turn it around on her. So if you have a question for Hillary to ask Ellen, submit it here:

Also on September 4, you can catch President Clinton on both the Oprah Winfrey Show and the Late Show, talking about his new book Giving: How Each of Us Can Change the World. He'll also be on CNN's Larry King Live on September 5.

Bill Clinton is such a sensitive man.  Watch him laugh, cry and share with Oprah on her September 4th show.  He will be on to give his first interview about his new passion!  Oprah's show airs at 4 p.m. EST on ABC.

TMZ is reporting that Oprah wants out-of-town guests for her Barack Obama fundraiser to stay at the San Ysidro Ranch.  One little snafu... there's a wedding there the day of her fundraiser, and many of the guest rooms are already booked.

Oprah's people have tried to get the bride to move her wedding, but she won't budge.  Well, of course not.  It's her wedding! You know, that (hopefully) once-in-a-lifetime event that little girls dream of (and sometimes plan) from birth?

All sentiments aside, Oprah got her way. "The wedding party did cancel a few rooms -- but we didn't charge a cancellation fee because there was such a demand for rooms that weekend," said the hotel manager.

If you're one of the lucky 1500 of O's closest friends who will be at the fundraiser, you'll be kicking it with Beyonce, Jamie Foxx, and [insert deep, wishful sigh here] George Clooney.  All are expected to attend.
