First Pup Barney Bush stars in a holiday video from The White House. Guest appearances are made by the Bush family, Michael Phleps, Shannon Miller and more.
President Bush's dog Barney is known for his gentle temperament. But when a White House reporter tried to pet him yesterday, he snarled and bit the reporter's finger.
Paris Hilton is surely pleased as well. Afterall, she was first to suggest painting The White House pink back in August, when she released a "campaign attack ad" targeting rivals John McCain and Barack Obama. (Yep, Paris is running for president. Kind of.)
The White House was lit pink Tuesday night to commemorate breast cancer awareness. Explained First Lady Laura Bush at the lighting ceremony, "In recognition of the mothers, daughters, sisters and wives who struggle with this disease, we're lighting the White House in pink, which is the color of the cause. May our lights tonight shine as beacons around the world, a signal of the United States' commitment to saving lives from breast cancer."
Now that's hot.

Barbara and Jenna Bush speak at the 2004 Republican National Convention. Highlights:
- Grandmother Barbara Bush thinks sex is "something married people do but never talk about." What a fool.
- George and Laura Bush's pet name for each other is Bushy.
- G.Dub and Laura know who Outkast is, and both have been known to "shake it like a Polaroid picture."
Yesterday on Today, First Lady Laura Bush and Anne Curry interviewed Barbara and Jenna Bush on what it's like to be a twin.
Details, details, details!
According to The Washington Post, Laura and Jenna Bush spilled the beans about Jenna's wedding details toVogue.
Jenna and fiance Henry Hager will tie the knot on May 10th at 7:30 p.m. on the Bush family's Crawford Ranch. Jenna will wear an Oscar de la Renta gown made of organza with embroidery, matte beading and a small train.
Jenna's not releasing pictures of her gown, of course, but sketches of her attendants' dresses, designed by Lela Rose, are above. Twin Barbara will be Jenna's Maid of Honor.
What did the Bushes score for Christmas? G Dub gave Laura a purse and a silver tray. (Can you imagine G Dub shopping for a purse?!) Laura gave G Dub some gear for cold weather mountain biking. The couple gave the twins, Jenna and Barbara, housewares for their apartments.
Jenna Bush, 26, and BFF Mia Baxter, 25, talked to Glamour about their best friendship.
The pair met 10 years ago in Madrid, when they participated in a high school overseas student exchange program. They recently published the book Ana's Story together (Jenna wrote the text and Mia, a photographer, took the pictures). Ana's Story is about the difficulties faced by an HIV infected single mother living in Latin America.
Not sure when Glamour posted the article about the girls' BFF-hood (probably within the past few weeks). Just ran across it.

First Lady Laura Bush is touring the middle east to promote breast cancer awareness. Breast cancer is the leading cause of death for women in the United States and the middle east. Mrs. Bush, who has a history of breast cancer in her family, is expected to promote awareness in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Jordan this week.
Just FYI (and you probably already know this), October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month here in the United States.

Jenna is "hitting the book-tour circuit, "Heard On the Hill reports. "Jenna kicks it off on Sept. 29 at Borders in Annapolis, Md., and she'll be in Washington a week later at Politics & Prose bookstore in Northwest D.C. to read excerpts from her book, which is targeted at middle-schoolers. Any extra security and crowd control measures beyond her Secret Service detail haven't been decided, but so far the bookstore has gotten more interest than expected and is still working out the details of whether the event at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 5 will be open to the public."
Love a good wedding! Something old, something new, something borrowed, something
blue... uh red?
Jenna Bush, 25, and Henry Hager, 29, got engaged yesterday in Maine. The White House released the following statement:
"President and Mrs. George W. Bush are happy to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jenna Bush, to Mr. Henry Hager, son of the Honorable and Mrs. John H. Hager of Richmond, Virginia. Miss Bush and Mr. Hager became engaged Wednesday, August 15, 2007."
First Lady Laura Bush and her daughter Jenna Bush are collaborating on a children's book that will be published by HarperCollins in September 2008. (Confidential to G Dub: yes, there will be lots of pictures...really big ones...with colors too.) The story will be based on Mrs. Bush's and Jenna's experiences as teachers.
"I am delighted to have the opportunity to partner with one of my favorite teachers, my daughter Jenna, to write a children's book -- and to have it illustrated by the wonderfully talented artist, Denise Brunkus," the Mrs. Bush said in a statement issued Thursday by HarperCollins.
Jenna Bush is also happy about the collaboration. "My mom has been my lifelong inspiration, sharing her love of reading and books with (my sister) Barbara and me since we were little girls," she said in a statement. "I've taken that passion into the classroom. I hope this book will help kids realize the importance and fun that reading can add to their daily lives."
Kids across the nation say they are excited to read the Book. President Bush says he looks forward to sounding it out.
