abc_ann_mr_120718_wg-300x168.jpgAnn Romney, wife of GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, will test her TV hosting chops next week, when she fills in for Good Morning America host Robin Roberts. The ever popular Roberts is on medical leave, after having a bone marrow transplant earlier this month.  Mrs. Romney's GMA hosting gig will pair her with GMA co-host George Stephanopoulos, who is also known for hosting political talk show This Week and serving as Chief of Staff to President Clinton in an earlier life.

As women make up the majority of GMA viewers, the Romney campaign likely hopes that Mrs. Romney will help attract GMA's female viewership to Mitt Romney.  Mitt is no chick magnet, as current polls show that he trails President Obama with women by a wide margin. Mitt's got going to have to chase a lot of skirts to match President Obama's popularity with women. Perhaps Mrs. Romney, who has higher favorable than her husband, will help him catch some.

We look forward to watching Mrs. Romney on GMA, and more eagerly, we look forward to seeing what she will be wearing.  Her hair, makeup and dress (Oscar de la Renta, girl!)  at the RNC convention were flawless. (Think we're shallow?  Then go read The Atlantic or something.)

Being bipartisan and all, GMA has also extended a hosting invitation to First Lady Michelle Obama.  We wait with baited breath to see if the First Lady will accept, and we'll update you as soon as we know whether she too will join us in our living rooms for coffee and burnt blueberry pop pop tarts.

Toodles.

Obama for America - Virginia posted this photo of BD Wong to Facebook.  Wong appears to be standing outside of an Obama campaign office, just 38 days before the election.  The post asks supporters to volunteer for the campaign before time runs out.

Virginia is a battleground state again this election cycle.  Prior to Obama's 2008 victory in Virginia, Virginia had not been won by a Democratic presidential candidate since President Lyndon Johnson won the state in 1964.

We love, love, love Wong as Dr. George Huang on one of our fave TV shows, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit!  Wong has also had roles in the HBO series Oz and the movie Jurassic Park

Jay-Z and Beyonce hosted a fundraiser for President Obama at Jay's swank 40/40 club in New York, and Beyonce was smitten by President Barack Obama!  Just look at her gushing at the President in this photo that Jay posted to facebook.

Adorbs!  How can anyone not love Bey?

And what do we think of Bey's hair, dress, and makeup? Stunning, stunning, and stunning. She wore a curve hugging, red Oscar de la Renta dress and side swept, 1940s glam styled curls.

One hundred people paid forty grand apiece to chill with President Obama, Beyonce and Jay.  Hey, if I were part of the 1%, I'd drop forty gees for this event too, even if for no reason other than Vanity Fair described it as "better than George Clooney's."

Guests mingled and sipped champagne in Jay's newly renovated (to the tune of $10 million) club.  "To Jay and Bey, thank you for your friendship," the President said. "Beyonce could not be a better role model for my girls."

So the guitarist in Rage Against the Machine,  Paul Ryan's favorite band, called Ryan an "extreme fringe right wing nut job." Sometimes love isn't mutual.

First Lady MIchelle Obama opens up to Gayle King of CBS This Morning  in a White House interview.  Mrs. Obama talks about her relationships with White House staff, the 2012 campaign and, of course, raising her girls.

She also shares how she handles recent portrayals of her as an "angry black women" by some media outlets.  "I just try to be me," the First Lady tells Gayle. "And my hope is that over time people get to know me, and they get to judge me for me."

You can watch the full interview here. CBS disabled the embed code, so we were unable to post the video to Polichicks.  Aaaargh!  Anyway, a penny for your thoughts in the comments.
