Daily Polichicks - The "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" edition

Happy Tuesday, Polichicks!

If you are in D.C., hope you are enjoying the fabulous weather as we are!  We're about to leave Day Job (caps intentional, as Day Job really is a humanlike evil character in our lives and a wicked bitch) to hit our favorite Borders at 18th & L and pick up some good ol' chick lit.  Love reading on our deck when it's nice outside.

Oh, the fab weather distraction almost made us forget... Wherever he was born, today is President Barack Obama's 48th birthday.  While he celebrates with ice cream on the White House lawn in front of the press, we'll celebrate with ice cream on our couch in front of the TV.  NYC Prep is on tonight.  Can't miss!

Anyway, we digress... Here's your Daily Polichicks:

* Bill Clinton is in North Korea to convince Korean leader Kim Jong II to release two American journalists (including journalist Lisa Ling's sister, Laura) who were arrested and imprisoned for illegally entering North Korea.  Our fingers are beyond crossed. [The Washington Post]

[Update: The journalists held in North Korea have been pardoned!  Holla!  We got the scoop over here from People.  Who says celeb mags don't have real news?]

* Ever wonder how President Obama and Sen. Ted Kennedy became boys (and how Obama scored Kennedy's coveted endorsement during the Democratic primary)? Here's how. [The Washington Post]
